Designed to be one of the most iconic buildings in downtown Denver, this high-rise residential tower features a carved-out, 4-story core, resembling a slot canyon. The canyon includes landscaping, water features, and 20,000 SF of complex “canyon walls”.

Process

STUD-IO worked with KHS&S Contractors to identify and add features to our BarBender software to develop a robust, reusable workflow for building highly-accurate, prefabricated panels out of 3D bent bars. STUD-IO worked with the team to develop a plan to take the project from design through fabrication and installation utilizing our software. The roughly 600 unique panels needed for the canyon walls were created via this workflow, with CNC fabrication files, parts lists, and drawings all generated in less than 1 week of total design time.
